Scholarship Amount- Tuition equivalent assistance up to $16,000 per academic year, for up to two years

Ideal for Who?- Applicants must be accepted into a nursing program and interested in pursuing a career in pediatric nursing

Requirements- Applicant must agree to work for Children’s for 18 months per each academic year rewarded.  Online application, two recommendation letters, 500-word essay

Ideal for Who?- Full-time, United Methodist students in the South Georgia Annual Conference. Applicants must demonstrate financial need, be preparing for ministry, and who are residents of or working within the bounds of the South Georgia Conference.  

Requirements- Recipients who change careers or conferences are obligated to repay the grant.

Over the years the question we heard most often was “Where do we find scholarships?”. We found that many students were applying for national scholarships although they had little or no luck in receiving any awards. So why is this? When applying for national scholarships you may be one of the tens of thousands that are applying for the scholarship. We found that the majority of students were not applying for scholarships that are available right where they live.  By applying for scholarships that are only available for a certain region, specific school, county, state, interest, or organization you can significantly increase your odds of getting money for college. Casualty Actuaries of the Southeast (CASE) Scholarship Program

Scholarship Deadline- 5/1/2009

Scholarship Amount- $1,500

Ideal for Who?- College student with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher, has sat for actuarial exams, has passed an actuarial exam (include VEE credits). Exams trump the study curriculum and/or major, has taken and excelled in actuarial science courses, has completed an actuarial internship

Requirements-Online application with attached essay, two nomination forms (preferably professors or advisors), official transcript

Description of Essay(s)- one-page essay discussing why you are interested in becoming a casualty actuary
